Featured Car Questions
Q. (NOSR) When & where did you purchase this car?
A. (Corey) In May of 2006 in my hometown in Michigan
Q. Why did you choose this car as the basis of your project?
A. Growing up I feel in love with Trans Am’s after learning how to drive in my grandmothers 86′ Trans Am. I also owned a 96′ WS6 that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina so when it came time for another toy it was a no brainer as to what I wanted to purchase.
Q. Was there anything unique about the car before you started modifying it?
A. It was exactly what I wanted. It was a t-top Trans Am and it was completely stock. The only thing that I didn’t like was the color but it grew on me.
Q. What was the objective of this project?
A. To have a streetable car that made over 400rwhp.
Q. What was the most difficult part of the project?
A. Not having an unlimited amount of funds. I didn’t do the first mod to it until after owning it for a year. It took patience but it was worth it cause I didn’t half-ass anything when it came to buying parts.
Q. If you had to do it all over again, is there anything you would change?
A. I wouldn’t change a thing cause it turned out better than I expected.
Q. Have you generated any formal test results with this car (dyno, ¼ mile, etc)
A. It was dyno tested to put out 424rwhp and 392rwtq. Best time at the track was a paltry 12.5 on street tires
Q. Are you finished? What’s next?
A. Cars are never finished. There are some minor things I want to change but I think I’m gonna just wait and do a total rebuild. It will include a bigger cubic inch motor accompanied by a Procharger. Oh and some drag radials soon cause I’m not satisfied with my track time.
Q. What is your favorite thing about this car?
A. The t-tops for sure along with the electric cutout.
Q. As modified, what makes your car unique?
A. You won’t see another one exactly like it.
Q. Are there any individuals or companies involved in the build that you would like to give special thanks to?
A. A big shout out to Allan “The LS Whisperer” Futral and his team at Futral Motorsports for not only giving me exactly what I wanted but for great customer service.
Q. Anything else you’d like to share?
A. I’d just like to thank everyone for admiring my car. It truly an honor to be featured ride of the month and know that people appreciate my hard work.
